Abstract

• Dry AOPs typing resolves simultaneously contrasting hygroscopic behaviors. • Marine, dust, and carbonaceous aerosols exhibit distinct hygroscopic responses. • BC- and BrC-dominated aerosols exhibit deliquescent behaviour at RH ≥ 75%. • Carbonaceous aerosols exhibit variable hygroscopicity linked to aerosol processing. • For BC- and BrC- aerosols, RFE(RH = 85%) decreases up to 15% regarding RH ≤ 40%.
