• End-of-life polyamide reverse osmosis membranes were investigated systematically. • Fuel properties of the raw material were retained during the 500°C pyrolysis. • Elevated pyrolysis temperature improves gas yield and but increases NO/NO2. • Clarified the pyrolysis and gasification reaction stage of the raw material.
