• Microchannel mixing is improved with geometric optimization using asperities. • Best mixing is achieved via triangular-shaped asperity over rectangular/elliptical. • Acoustic energy is added to further enhance the microchannel mixing. • The enhanced mixing can be used for biomedical diagnostics, chemical processing etc.
