• Red-to-yellow skin color driven by decreased Cyanidin and increased Astragalin. • Metabolomic flux in mutant shifted to chlorogenic acids, Quercetin, Kaempferol. • Anthocyanin biosynthesis genes (4CL, CHS, CHI) showed higher expression in Pushu32.
