• Unified barrier benchmark links TRP safety and fast-charge thermal performance. • Structured thermal network includes reaction heat and pressure-triggered venting. • Silica aerogel avoids 150 °C crossing within 1800 s but penalizes cooling. • Enhanced composite PCM reaches 1191 s delay with near-baseline fast-charge behavior.
