• CL-20/Ti3C2Tx-APTES composite with an intimate interface was constructed by electrostatic self-assembly. • Interface-engineered CL-20/Ti3C2Tx MXene architecture shows a remarkable reduction in ignition delay time. • This work pioneers the focus on thermal management in laser ignition.
