• One step solid-state synthesis of Mo-W incorporated BN. • Mo/MoO3 and WO3 introduce redox sites and suppress BN restacking. • Hybrid EDLC-pseudocapacitive behavior enhances charge storage. • Delivers 90.2 F g-1 and 8 Wh kg-1 in asymmetric configuration. • Retains 90.2% capacitance after 10,000 cycles.
