• Intracellular microelectrode array (iMEA) enables population-scale intracellular recording. • iMEA recording reveals a synaptic connectivity map annotated with synaptic properties. • Synaptic connectivity maps ground neuromorphic models in real biological circuitry. • Higher SNR in iMEA recording is a key frontier for enriching synaptic connectivity map.
