• Examines the relationship between green bonds (GBs) and physical climate risks (PCRs). • Analyzes the USA from 2014/8 to 2023/12 by performing novel quantile-based methods. • GBs are negatively related to the extreme high temperature index across all quantiles. • GBs are mixedly related to the remaining PCRs across quantiles. • GBs have almost the same relationship with aggregated and disaggregated level PCRs.
