Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• Slip activity near twin boundaries was studied by a combination of nanoindentation, ECCI and HR-EBSD. • Slip activity near twin boundaries shows {c+a} slip in the twin and prismatic slip in the parent grain. • Indentation curves reveal pop-in behavior dependent on the distance to twin boundary. • High grain boundary resistance is demonstrated by dislocation pile-ups causing twin boundary bulging rather than slip transmission. • Twin boundary motion induced by dislocation-pile-ups is confirmed through Peach–Koehler force calculations based on HR-EBSD.
