• The electrochemical performance degradation of energy storage concrete at low temperature is revealed. • The three-stage degradation pattern of energy storage concrete under freeze-thaw cycles is established. • The quantitative relationship between micro-damage variable and freeze-thaw cycles is proposed. • The coupled electrochemical-mechanical degradation mechanism under freeze-thaw action is clarified.
