Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• The effect of turbulence intensity (TI) on wind pressures on low-rise elevated houses is analyzed using LES. • The r.m.s. wind pressures are slightly influenced (<5%) by varying the TI with an increase of 30%. • The peak wind pressures are significantly affected by the variations in TI. • A 30% increase in TI leads to over 36% increase in peak pressures on different components of the building. • The research data can be incorporated into wind load datasets to inform modifications of design codes.
