Abstract
En 中文
In this paper, I describe a pivotal moment in my training as a clinical psychologist/psychotherapist, who later became a psychoanalyst. The patient taught me a great deal about the power of transference, the unconscious, and the perils of theoretical countertransference. I discuss the implications of this experience for early stage of career therapists, and the importance of attending to psychoanalytic concepts regardless of one's attachment to a particular theoretical viewpoint.
