Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• The Zimithang thrust (ZT) represents a distinct metamorphic discontinuity. • Zircon petrochronology reveals ZT initiation at <20 Ma. • Hanging wall of the ZT produced 22–29 vol% melt, likely contributing to leucogranites. • Melt-enhanced weakening triggered exhumation of the Upper Greater Himalayan Sequence. • Upper Greater Himalayan Sequence exhumed rapidly during the Early Miocene (~5 mm/yr).
