Abstract

• A new dynamic erodibility factor integrating vegetation, land use and snow cover was developed. • The improved scheme substantially reduces dust-emission simulation errors across China. • Long-term (2000-2023) sand and dust emission patterns were quantified at national scale. • Results highlight the role of ecological restoration in reducing sediment availability.
