Abstract

• A customized magnetic print-bed is developed to impose magnetic intervention after filament deposition. • Simultaneous enhancements in buildability and interlayer bonding are achieved due to magnetically induced fiber motion. • The anisotropy of acoustic and compressive properties of 3D printed specimens is altered after magnetic field exposure. • X-CT results confirm the magnetically induced redistribution and reorientation of steel fibers within the printed members.
