Managing semantic evolution in databases: from theory to implementation
DOI:10.1016/j.future.2025.108257.png)
Abstract
En 中文
• Semantic evolution in databases occurs mainly because of renaming, grouping, or regrouping. • Changes in cities and disease names are examples of semantic heterogeneity. • Preprocessing semantic heterogeneous data usually outperforms query rewriting. • Models and algorithms to deal with semantic evolution were presented and evaluated. • Common users do not need to be aware of or manually deal with semantic heterogeneity.
