Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• Improved model and approach for large-scale mapping of Sargassum using MSI data. • Impacts of sun glint, striping, thin clouds, and other image noise all minimized. • Results comparable to MODIS for offshore waters with large amounts of Sargassum. • Up to 5 times more Sargassum detected by MSI than MODIS during low-amount months. • Nearshore data gaps from MODIS filled by MSI maps to improve regional assessment.
