Abstract
En 中文
Work engagement is a psychological construct of interest in the organizational context, characterized by high levels of energy, emotional involvement, and full concentration on workplace. Its relevance has driven the development of tools that allow for objective assessment; and although it has been validated in different languages, evidence of its psychometric properties in the Colombian population is scarce. For this reason, the objective of the study is to provide evidence of the validity and reliability of the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale in a sample of 251 Colombian workers. Through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, a three-dimensional structure with optimal fit indicators (CFI = .93; RMSEA = .10) was identified, and high internal consistency coefficients (alpha = .93; omega = .98) were obtained. The analyses confirmed factor invariance across genders, supporting the use of the instrument in diverse population subgroups. In addition, a positive and significant correlation was found between the dimensions of instrument and the factors of the Work Quality Inventory, supporting its convergent validity. These results position the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale as a robust tool for assessing work engagement in Colombia, allowing its application in both research and organizational interventions.
