Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• Mechanical activation (MA) is introduced to modify the depressant starch for hematite flotation. • Optimized MA conditions maximize starch depression ability. • MA increases the starch branches to improve its adsorption on the hematite surface. • Excessive MA seriously damages the starch molecular structure to lose its depressing ability. • Two carbon-centered free radicals are generated by MA to increase starch activity. • Moderate MA condition increases starch adsorption energy on the hematite surface.
