Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• The present review explores the corrosion protection and self-healing potential of on-demand stimuli-responsive polymer-based coatings. • These coatings self-heal the damaged area in response to stimuli such as temperature, pH, light, or ions. • Because of their tunable chemistry, sustainability, and flexibility, polymer-derived coatings outperform conventional coatings. • In the presence of suitable agents, these coatings also provide a labyrinth effect, delaying the diffusion of corrosive species. • Their performance can be suitably tailored through cross-linking, copolymerization, or grafting techniques.
