Abstract
It has been demonstrated beyond doubt that the acquired chromosome abnormalities, \vhich are a characteristic feature of human neoplastic cells, are non randomly distributed throughout the genome and that certain aberrations are associated with specific histological tumour types (1,2). These chromosomal changes, including both structural and numerical aberrations, affect all chromosomes, autosomes as well as gonosomes, and may be found as sole changes, but, particularly in solid tumours, more often in a complex array of karyotypic changes.
