Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
The sustainable production of vitamin E in microbial cell factories has been restricted to tocotrienol derivatives. In this issue of Nature Metabolism, Zhang, Li and Cao et al. leverage non-classical enzymatic catalysts that are endogenous to Rhodobacter species to engineer a microbial chassis that produces tocopherols at gram scale.
