• Microcystin-LR (MC-LR) inhibits SVF cell viability, exerting toxic effects. • MC-LR damages mitochondrial function and promotes mitophagy in SVF cells. • MC-LR activates the Wnt/β-Catenin signaling pathway abnormally in the early stage of adipogenesis. • MC-LR significantly impairs adipogenesis in SVF cells.
