Mixed plantations decrease surface runoff and sediment yield across the Loess Plateau of China
DOI:10.1016/j.foreco.2025.123051.png)
Abstract
En 中文
• On average, mixed plantations reduced runoff by 30.20 % and soil loss by 40.19 %. • Tree-shrub mixed plantations are more effective for controlling soil erosion. • Mixed plantations effectively control soil erosion in climate-constrained regions. • The effectiveness of mixed plantations in controlling soil erosion increases with stand age and slope gradient. • Mixed plantations can control soil erosion by improving soil properties and vegetation characteristics.
