Abstract

• We propose a novel pattern construction mechanism that incrementally constructs longer patterns by merging 2-patterns that satisfy pattern join conditions. • We introduce a query structure PositionMap for efficiently retrieving all item occurrences and develop a new 2-pattern matching algorithm, GapMatch. • We design a pruning strategy, which effectively eliminates a substantial portion of infrequent patterns at a significantly lower cost.
