Abstract

• A multi-objective and multiclass freight tour synthesis model is developed to support sustainable transportation planning. • The model simultaneously maximizes trip entropy and minimizes cost, time, and CO2 emissions. • A Pareto frontier of solutions is generated using the epsilon-constraint method, enabling the exploration of trade-offs. • The TOPSIS multicriteria decision-making method is applied to rank solutions based on different objective weights. • A sensitivity analysis confirms that solution rankings depend significantly on the relative importance of each criterion. • Incorporating environmental and entropy objectives improves the system’s sustainability, flexibility, and adaptability.
