• Thirteen metals were quantified in 113 cosmetics using validated ICP-MS. • 50.4% of products exceeded at least one international impurity limit. • Pigment-rich makeup and black henna showed the highest metal concentrations. • Hazard Index and lifetime cancer risk indicated major concerns for Cd and Cr. • Results highlight the need for stricter impurity limits and improved pigment sourcing.
