• Multi-objective topology optimization was performed for thermoelastic structures. • A modified adaptive weighted sum method is proposed for muti-objective design. • Pareto solutions are identified in bi- and tri-objective optimization formulations. • Weight components adapt using the distance between the utopia and current point. • The quantitative evaluation is presented through 2D and 3D numerical examples.
