Abstract

• A new wrapper approach is proposed for hyperspectral band selection. • It consists of a multiobjective evolutionary algorithm and an underlying classifier. • Three objective functions have been employed. • A new power distribution-based strategy for selecting and generating solutions. • A significant band reduction is obtained for all datasets with better accuracy.
