Neuro-transfer function (neuro-TF), as an emerging and rapidly developing electromagnetic (EM) parametric modeling technique over the past decade, has been drawing increasing attention. This paper provides a brief overview of the development history and the latest advancements in this field, with a particular focus on the recent compact embedded neruo-TF. Most importantly, this paper offers a unified perspective to deeply analyze the fundamental reasons behind the effectiveness of neuro-TF. Finally, the future research trends in this area are discussed.
