This study evaluates the performance of ALOS-2 ScanSAR time series for resolving tectonic, volcanic, hydrologic, and geomorphic deformation across Northern California. Beginning in 2021, ALOS-2 acquired ScanSAR data with a 14-day repeat interval over the region, providing the closest available analog to the recently launched NISAR mission. The full 2015-2024 archive includes acquisitions with irregular repeat intervals, motivating the need for processing choices tailored to specific deformation targets. We apply split-spectrum ionospheric estimation, adaptive interferogram network selection, filtering, and multi-looking, and we use SBAS time series inversion to derive regional velocities and displacement histories. Comparisons with GNSS show agreement of 2.1-2.9 mm/yr for long-term line-of-sight velocities and 1.5-2.0 cm for time-dependent deformation. By improving the precision through careful treatment of error sources, we resolve both secular and transient displacements. We highlight (a) spatially coherent subsidence at Medicine Lake Volcano, (b) rapid aquifer-related subsidence associated with the 2022 drought in the Sacramento Valley, and (c) localized slow-moving landslides in densely vegetated terrain. These results provide a reference for expected wide-swath L-band performance from NISAR and ROSE-L missions, illustrating the expanded potential for geohazard monitoring in the era of increased L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar availability.
