Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• We clarify conditions of occurrence of unforeseen stress softening for Armstrong–Frederick law. • For saturating laws, non-admissible plastic states can be reached from temperature changes. • A bi-isothermal test is formulated as a thought experiment to highlight such spurious effects. • A power-law-like non-saturating kinematic hardening law is proposed. • The proposed law ensures an always positive plastic modulus and forbids spurious stress softening.
