Abstract

Focusing on Notes on Being a Man (2025) by Scott Galloway, a recent revelation in masculinity debate, this review argues that boys and men in the Western societies are facing a crisis of reduced education, financial instability, and loneliness. Incorporating memoir, cultural commentary, and practical advice, the book presents a new 'code' of manliness, based upon discipline, kindness, and responsibility. Although the book helps in shaping out a popular discourse of male vulnerability, it is inclined to personalized solutions that are not of much significance to structural disparities. Lastly, it is a timely yet perhaps not fully comprehensive contribution to modern-day discourses concerning masculinity.
