• This study employs both experimental and numerical approaches to comprehensively investigate the intralaminar and interlaminar behavior of dual-wrinkled morphology in composite laminates. • Under tensile and bending loads, wrinkle amplitude and angle significantly influence interlaminar damage, with damage patterns varying across different dual-wrinkled morphologies. • Interlaminar coupling damage increases with higher tensile load proportions under complex loading, while the convex-based morphology consistently shows the lowest damage among the three morphologies. • Distinct strain distributions in the x- and z-directions are observed across the three dual-wrinkled morphologies, with the finite element model partially capturing these patterns.
