• Synthesized S,N-deCQDs and probed their DNA adsorption/desorption by polyA length. • Developed an “on-off-on” ratiometric aptasensor for TOB with 2.14 nM detection limit. • Built two low-cost portable platforms for accurate TOB detection in milk and river water.
