The unique perspectives of surgeons who have transitioned into executive leadership roles provide valuable insights into effective communication, leadership, and the future of healthcare. In this special edition editorial, Dr. Julie Freischlag shares her story and personal approach to leadership. Throughout her career in vascular surgery and executive healthcare administration, she has maintained a distinctive leadership style that is characterized by personal connections and relationships.
