Abstract

Directed logic (DL) circuit is an alternative technology in optical computing to conventional logic circuits. It performs a logic function and its inverse operation simultaneously. So data loss can not happen in DL circuits. In this paper, an optical majority voter function and its inverse i.e. minority voter function have been designed with electro-optic Mach-Zehnder interferometers. Numerically simulated CR (similar to 6.5 dB), and AM (similar to 2 dB) have been calculated using output waveform obtained from the 2D-beam propagation method. Directed logic-based vector matrix model has also been analyzed. The quantum realization of this optical gate has been designed using reversible Toffoli gates and also with quantum primitive gates. The quantum equivalent circuit has been designed in a real quantum computer and the output results have been shown.
