This paper proposes an event-triggered composite prescribed performance control (PPC) strategy for stabilizing the output voltage in Direct Current (DC) converters. First, the nonlinear uncertain converter system is transformed into Brunovsky canonical form via exact feedback linearization. Subsequently, a nonlinear disturbance observer (NDO) estimates lumped uncertainties, with feedforward compensation enhancing voltage regulation accuracy to robustly address system uncertainties and external disturbances. Using back-stepping control, a PPC guarantees bounded evolution of the output voltage tracking error within predefined constraints. Furthermore, an event-triggered mechanism featuring an adjustable threshold Δ $$ \Delta $$ strategically reduces the switching frequency to improve operational efficiency. Finally, an integrated composite nonlinear controller synthesizing event-triggered with prescribed performance is developed using the back-stepping. The comprehensive simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.
