In recent years, organic photosensitive small molecules have shown powerful catalytic activity and multifunctionality to achieve various transformations. This mini-review summarizes the applications, mechanisms, and progress of organic photosensitive small molecules in photo-promoted synthesis in recent years (2022 to 2026), demonstrating their broad potential in green synthesis and drug modification.
