Parameter Estimation for Lithium-ion Batteries Based on the Weighted Gradient Descent Algorithm

In this paper, a joint estimation mechanism for the parameters and the order of the lithium-ion batteries is proposed. The improvement of estimation accuracy comes from the following three aspects. Firstly, in order to overcome the shortcomings of electrochemical model and equivalent circuit model, a battery model based on fractional-order model is proposed. Secondly, a gradient descent algorithm is proposed to estimate battery model parameters and order, and realize online estimation. Thirdly, with the aiming of reducing the interference of noise, the weighted gradient descent algorithm is derived by introducing a weighted factor. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified by a simulation experiment.
