Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• A new side-mounted AWJ-PDC combined drilling mode for rock-breaking was proposed. With increasing AWJ nozzle installation diameter on the PDC bit, combined drilling performance first increases and then decreases; shorter standoff distance and higher pump pressure enhance performance, while drilling thrust is linearly correlated with penetration rate and higher rotational speed helps reduce thrust. • The optimal parameters for AWJ-PDC combined drilling are: nozzle installation diameter 40 mm, standoff distance 30 mm, pump pressure >300 MPa, drilling thrust 10.5 kN, and rotation speed 50 rpm. • A different-track layout between the AWJ and PDC cutters effectively releases rock confinement and facilitates fracture propagation.
