Abstract

• Defects in thin plate-like structures are characterized using Guided wave phased array imaging. • The fundamental symmetric Lamb wave mode is transmitted and received using the FMC scanning strategy, followed by TFM implementation to generate fully focused imaging. • The vector coherence factor is weighted to the TFM beamformer to improve the defect characteristics in near, far fields, and in a dead zone.
