Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
Single crystals of CaWO4 doped with 0-5.0 mol% Tb were synthesized using the optical floating zone technique, and the photoluminescence and scintillation characteristics were systematically investigated. In X-ray-induced scintillation spectra, the Tb-doped crystals exhibited distinct emission peaks around 550 nm, due to the characteristic 4f-4f transitions of Tb3+. The scintillation decay times, ranging from 0.59 to 0.82 ms, matched the values expected for Tb3+-related radiative processes. Furthermore, the gamma-ray response measurements using a137Cs source revealed that the 0.1 mol% Tb-doped crystal achieved the highest light yield among all crystals examined, reaching 20200 photons/MeV.
