Abstract

Polyurethane conductive ion gels have shown good research potential in the field of ion skin due to their good ionic conductivity and self-healing ability, but balancing mechanical stretchability, dynamic self-healing, and ion conductivity is still challenging. Here, we report a polyurethane-based ionogels (PU@IL1) cross-linked by 2-methylpiperazine-derived hindered urea bonds (HUBs) and polyetheramine T403, and plasticized with [EMIM][TFSI]. The gel has an ionic conductivity of 406.92 μS/cm, an elongation of 1830.7%, and self-healing at room temperature (24 h strength recovery of 74%, elongation recovery of 85%). As a strain sensor, it exhibits GF = 8.66 (0.1%–0.5%) and a response time that is always less than 100 ms, enabling real-time human motion monitoring. The addition of [EMIM][TFSI] and with the aid of ethyl acetate can significantly improve the long-term storage stability of polyurethane ionogels, which lays a foundation for its practical application in wearable devices with long service life.
