Precoding design plays a critical role in generating waveforms for dual-function radar communication (DFRC) systems. To enable high-resolution sensing and high-capacity communication, the massive multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) technology is integrated into DFRC architectures. To address the computational burden associated with the large-scale matrix inversion, this paper proposes a general dual-function precoding framework, which reduces the computational complexity from cubic to linear in the number of transmit antennas by exploiting the subspace property of the nontrivial stationary points. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm not only achieves better performance compared to the state-of-the-art method, but also exhibits extremely low execution time, which is less than 0.5 seconds for systems with 160 transmit antennas.
