Abstract

Gallium and cryptomelane are both semiconducting materials with tunable properties. However, gallium-doped cryptomelane-type materials are still scarce in the literature. In this article, we report the studies on the powders and macro-size 3D foams (i.e., fabricated by nanowires/nanorods with a diameter of ca. 45-55 nm) of gallium-doped cryptomelane-type octahedral manganese oxide molecular sieves (Ga-K-OMS-2), through systematic determinations of ICP-OES, XRD, FT-IR, nitrogen physisorption, optical morphology, FESEM, EDS, electrical resistivity/conductivity as well as electrochemical capacitance characteristics.
