Abstract

• CO₂ subcooling ensured liquid feed and improved pump stability at start-up. • CO₂ density governed kinetics; max oil recovery reached 6.9 wt%. • FAME and α-tocopherol were preserved; no oxidation was detected in extracts. • Back-pressure valve re-tuning guaranteed limited CO2 density fluctuations. • SC-CO₂ energy demand comparable to hexane, with a more compact set-up.
