Currently, the generation of entrepreneurship within university classrooms is still incipient and the development of entrepreneurial skills is scarce, requiring its strengthening through strategies to improve academic training and the performance of future professionals. The objective was to explore and interpret the effect of the professional internship on the consolidation of entrepreneurial skills and both academic and work competencies in students who interact at the Business Innovation Center (CINEM) in Tunja-Boyac & aacute;-Colombia. The methodology focused on a non-experimental, empirical, and descriptive-interpretive design. Data was collected via Google Drive through a survey administered to 100 individuals. Both Excel and the R package were used for data processing. The results showed that 90% of the surveyed students perceive CINEM as a real-world scenario that offers multiple opportunities to improve the skills they need to perform adequately in the business context and to generate potential entrepreneurial ventures. It has been concluded that there is a significant, although moderate, association between the professional internship carried out at this center and the acquisition of both work-related skills and entrepreneurial abilities.
