Pseudohypoxia induced by chemical pollutants: Biochemical evidence of environmental vulnerability
DOI:10.1016/j.ecoenv.2025.119243.png)
Abstract
En 中文
• Innovative concept introduction: The study pioneers the concept of "pollutant-induced pseudohypoxia" and elucidates its mechanism, providing a novel perspective for pollutant toxicity research. • Comprehensive review of pollutant-HIF-1α interactions: This work reveals the diversity and complexity of the mechanisms by which various environmental pollutants (e.g., heavy metals, organic pollutants, atmospheric particles) induce pseudohypoxia. • Interdisciplinary research and clinical significance: Integrating multidisciplinary perspectives from molecular biology, toxicology, epidemiology, and clinical medicine, this study examines the role of pollutants in pseudohypoxia and their impact on cancer, cardiovascular, and neurodegenerative diseases. • Future research directions and challenges: The article points out the research limitations and clinical diagnosis and treatment challenges of pollutant-induced pseudohypoxia, providing valuable reference directions for future investigations.
